Known as  “Homecroft” or “Eastdene,” this brick Georgian Revival dwelling
with the large two-story portico was influenced by a late 19th century
interest in ante-bellum southern plantation homes.  However, there were
few examples of this style in Chestnut Hill, possibly due to the prevalence
and popularity of stone for construction as well as the strength of the Philadelphia
architectural traditions.  Additions and alterations occurred in 1895
(George T. Pearson, architect), 1900 (George T. Pearson, architect),
1916 (two-story rear addition by Charles Barton Keen, architect), and 1922.
